Looking after your hair during lockdown has been difficult for many of us, due to salons having been forced to shut. This has meant ladies across the country have been unable to get their roots touched up, the greys covered, their fringes maintained, or their split ends sorted out.

However, someone who has been wowing the public with her perfect tresses despite having no professional help during the pandemic is Kate Middleton.

While the Duchess of Cambridge has not been able to attend public events over the last couple of months, she has regularly been seen on video conferencing calls, showing off her brunette locks.

Despite not being able to have her usual professional blow dry, her self-styling is proving a hit with the public.

Celebrity hair stylist James Johnson told Femail her ‘undone’ style looks like it has been created at home with a medium tong.

“Although we are used to Kate’s perfect locks, Kate’s effort is great and it’s nice to see a more relaxed style on her,” he stated, adding: “It’s not easy doing your hair yourself when you’re used to getting it done professionally, so Kate has done well.”

Luckily, the duchess had her long bob cut before quarantine began, so she is not suffering from an overgrown style like many of us at home. Additionally, Johnson said having a break with regular styling has meant her hair has had time to restore itself, which could explain why it looks in such great condition!

She has also been experimenting with different styles, recently swapping her bouncy wavy look for a scraped-back up do.

On a video call with volunteers at crisis text line Shout85258, she sported an elegant swept-up style, which she complemented with a pair of drop earrings.

If the royal has inspired you to look after your tresses, book an appointment at our eco-friendly salon in Hampshire as soon as lockdown is lifted.
